Il disturbo da uso di eroina rappresenta una condizione clinica complessa nella quale vulnerabilità biologica, esperienza traumatica e adattamenti neuropsichiatrici si intrecciano lungo un continuum evolutivo.

Questo volume propone una rilettura del rapporto tra disturbo post-traumatico da stress e dipendenza da oppioidi, introducendo il concetto di spettro post-traumatico associato alla storia tossicomanica. Attraverso una prospettiva integrata – clinica, psicopatologica e neurobiologica – gli Autori esplorano i meccanismi attraverso cui l’esperienza della dipendenza può configurarsi essa stessa come fattore traumatico cronico.

Il lavoro si inserisce nella tradizione della medicina delle dipendenze orientata alla comprensione longitudinale del paziente e alla costruzione di modelli terapeutici personalizzati.
